The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, the world’s first playstation phone with Playstation Certificate is being released today in UK.
There was news that Sony Ericsson would have to delay the handset release after a freight issues, but The Carphone Warehouse, Phone4u and Orange have managed to get some of the phones on the starting day.
Sony Ericsson told The INQUIRER that its gaming phone is on sale today, as planned, in stores across the UK but said it has "experienced a freight issue that may impact the number of Xperia PLAYs arriving at some retail outlets."
This phone is however not cheap. The average cost per month touched over £35 per month with Orange offering it at £40 per month.
There would be five preinstalled game in the handset and the remaining one game would be available for the download. The games labelled by Sony are: Crash Bandicoot, Cool Boarders 2, Destruction Derby, Jumping Jack Evil, MediEvil and Syphon Filter.
The remaining games are mostly android games which include Avatar, Age of Zombies, and Nova 2.
There were indications that this phone has won critical success awards due to lack of headline-games.
