Spiritual Leader Sathya Sai Baba Dies at Age 85

Sathya Sai Baba, a spiritual leader to many, died on Sunday. However, hundreds of his followers have started saying special prayers in the belief that their favorite spiritual seer will come to live again. They say that he will show another miracle to them by coming back to life.

As the news of his death rolled in over different media outlets, a number of his devotees started chanting the Maha Mriyunjaya Mantra in Karavelanagar at the Sathya Sai temple. The devotees will chant the mantra for 72 hours because they believe that after that Baba will come back to life.

Many believe that the only reason he physically died was because he heard the prayer of one of his devotees to save him from death, so he took the devotee’s death onto his own body. According to doctors, Baba died after a prolonged illness at the age of 85.

Paresh Mishra, one of Baba’s followers from Dhenkanal said, “Sai Baba will talk to us again. He can’t die. Doctors are nobody to pronounce the death of God. We are nobody to comment on death of God. It is his wish. He knows the best and does the best”.

Baba himself didn’t claim one single religion. He said that he did not want to destroy anyone’s faith, only to make them stronger in it.
