Sony PlayStation 3 is being sold at a 15% lower price with the fall in prices in India. The step taken by the Company is believed to be a strategy to improve the sales record or even introduction of a better PlayStation like the PSVita or the PlayStation 4.
Dealing from past 5 years in the segment, the last price cut that the Company made was 2 years back and the recent price cut seems to be appropriate with the approaching festive season in the country. Also, the Sony PlayStation 3 games like Move Street Cricket, Resistance 3, Move Fitness and Uncharted 3 are expected to be launched, which will encourage the buyers even more, along with the downloadable Bollywood-based game RA. One.
As per the Country Manager of Sony PlayStation, Atindriya Bose, “India is an integral part of PlayStation business growth and we are happy to synchronize the price drop in India with the global price drop. It also provides an additional opportunity to really become an attractive proposition during the festive season”.
The price after making a 15% discount is Rs. 16,990 for the 160GB model and Rs. 19,990 for the 320GB one. Moreover, the PS Move Starter pack will be available with the 320GB PS3 at a price of Rs. 19,990.
