Indian bourses got well on Thursday covering up earlier losses.
At 10:05 a. m., the 30-share index BSE Sensex gained 50.73 points (0.27%) to trade at 18,520.09 with 17 components in the green.
In the meantime, the broad-based Nifty was ruling 4.60 points up (0.08%) at 5,541.75 with 23 components gaining.
Today, the BSE Sensex belled the day on a flat note with a gain of 15.35 points at 18,484.71, whereas Nifty begun with a decline of 5.55 points at 5,531.60.
The BSE Mid and small caps surged 0.55% and 0.60% respectively.
The major gainers in the Sensex pack comprised Hero Honda Motors (4.24%), JP Associates (1.57%), Maruti (1.35%), ONGC (1.28%), JSPL (1.16%), and Mah & Mah (1.08%).
In contrast, the top losers in the list comprised Rel Energy (-1.98%), Bharti Airtel (-1.85%), Cipla (-1.34%), Sterlite Ind (-1.22%), RComm (-1.17%), and Tata Power (-0.80%).
Among sectoral indices, the Oil & Gas index gained 107.43 points followed by the Auto index, which surged 89.57 points and the Consumer Durables index remained up by 0.92%.
In contrast, the HC index declined 25.55 points to trade at 6,094.06.
The over market breadth was optimistic with 1,231 advancements as against 665 declinations.
