The mistake of paying higher to the staff may lead to legal action at Queensland Health. It has been revealed that Queensland Health accidently paid $62 million to thousands of workers. Following the warning by the lawyer, Queensland is now trying to get back the money.
In order to get back the money Queensland Hospital wrote a letter to the employees to return the overpaid amount from their salary. However, it has been told by Gold Cost’s Lawyer, Bruce Simmonds that Queensland Health through its letter is causing anxiety and stress among employees. He said that the letter reads, “Pay us back so many dollars or else…”.
He has accused the management for troubling its workers through its unjustifiable tone of the letter. He has warned that if, in order to recover the money, Queensland takes the help of court than the consequences will be dire for it.
The money was overpaid by the Queensland Health accidently and therefore the employees have done no wrong in it. Which mean that the employees rather being threatened should be given time to return the money as it might lead to bankruptcy and thus may add to stress.
However, the Queensland Health has said that it will be taking the help of court only if it is necessary. It further said that if any employee refuses to return the money then it will be definitely taking the help of court.
