Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has promised its users to provide push email services. For the new service, it has come to light that MTNL will be utilizing an amount of Rs. 1,450 crore during the current fiscal year.
Bharat Berry Technologies Pvt. Ltd, a local email technology solution provider, has tied with MTNL to offer the push-email services in Mumbai and Delhi. It has been told that the MTNL customers will be able to enjoy the service for free of cost for a month.
However, the subscription based services will include the push emails and personal information manager (PIM) sync at the rate of Rs. 50 each on a monthly basis. Besides that a combo pack which includes the both services will be available at Rs. 80 per month for MTNL users.
Meanwhile, the city traffic police have asked MTNL to make provision of emergency calling in its accident helpline number which will be accessible from mobile phones. Presently, mobile users have to dial the local area code before dialing the number 1073. But, many users who are not aware of this fact find themselves helpless in case of emergency. A traffic police official said that a toll-free number can be a life savior in case of any emergency.
