The Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, which is said to be the only federally designated agency in the state and Willis-Knighton Health System, are having a flag raising ceremony on the 5th of April.
During the same period of the ceremony, hospitals around Louisiana will be celebrating National Donate for Life month that involves a 30-day re-orientation and awareness initiative regarding organ donation. Also, they will join thousands of organizations across the nation in the Flag across America initiative to honor donors and recipients.
The essence of the initiative is to enlighten people about the significant advantages of organ donation and how it has saved a lot of lives; this was expressed by the Program Administrator at the Regional Transplant Center, Deborah Bellamy.
A donor family has explained that organ donation is part of the Canadian Health Care System, as it has dramatically improved the lives of a great amount of people in the country. Also, there are quite a number of people who are urgently waiting for different organ transplants. The need to educate intending donors was also emphasized. However ,most family who are into organ donation have been reported to have a powerful and rewarding experience, since from history Canadians have been known to possess a spirit of generosity.
