Indian markets opened marginally higher on Thursday and went in negative zone within first 25 minutes of trade. At 9.55 am IST, BSE Sensex was trading 17 points higher at 17082.
Nikkei 225 was marginally positive at 8783 while Straits Times was flat. Hang Send was down by 0.7% at 19897. Bank of Korea has kept the policy rate at the same level considering the global financial environment.
US Markets closed positive with DJIA 2.47% higher at 11,414. Nasdaq performed better, registering over three per cent gain at 2549.
Among major gainers in early trade in Mumbai were Ranbaxy Labs, Wipro, TCS and Infosys.
Pharmaceutical major Ranbaxy crossed 500 level quite smartly today. The stock gained nearly 5.1% at Rs 511.
Losers in early trading session were JP Associates, Jindal Steel, Bajaj Auto and steel major SAIL.
