Google has created a play-along Doodle to mark the birth anniversary of electric guitar inventor Les Paul. The Google Doodle, created to celebrate Les Paul's birthday, is one of the interactive Google Doodles till date.
Less Paul was born in 1915 and was a jazz/blues musician and inventor of the solid-body electric guitar that started rock and roll music. Paul has also invented multi-track recording, which made studio recording a lot more effective. For his contribution to the music industry, Smithsonian Institution honored Paul with a Bicentennial Medal before his death.
Google created its first Doodle in 1998 to celebrate the Burning Man festival. Earlier, Doodles were only created to celebrate holidays or special events, such as the Olympics or Earth Day but now Google has started to create Doodles for birth and other anniversaries also.
Google has revealed that the Doodle was created by using a combination of HTML5, JavaScript and the Flash plugin. The Flash plugin provided the sounds of the string to the Doodle.
