Country's GSM subscriber base increased 1.95% during the month of April with the summation of 11.11 million cellular phone users, out of which Bharti Airtel solely roped in more than 2.41 million subscribers.
As per the facts issued by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the overall number of GSM subscribers in India hit 580.67 million as compared to 569.56 million during the month of March.
At present, Bharti Airtel enjoys a market share of 28.35% with more than 164.61 million customers.
Vodafone accompanied with an accumulation of 2.4 million customers, taking its overall user base to 136.98 million.
On the other hand, Idea Cellular recorded 2.45 million customers to take its overall subscribers base to over 91.95 million.
State-owned telecommunication operators Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) added 689,361 and 14,633 clients respectively taking their overall user base to about 87.14 million and
New telecommunication operator Uninor registered 1.45 million subscribers to have a total of 24.24 million customers.
