According to reports, Bihar has decided to set up a thorough database of its 4.12 lakh government staff for proper functioning of the state government.
A representative in the CM's Office stated that the record will assist the administration in determining liability of pay, pension and growth budget.
"The database will provide the state government an easy access of control over its finances," an executive of the state finance section stated.
The finance division had directed all department chiefs to make sure that the inside information of each and every employee drawing salary from the administration reserves be made accessible by June 17, failing which their salaries for the coming month and the quarter would not be issued.
The projected database would comprise facts of educational qualification, status, religious conviction, appointment order, date of yearly increment and retirement, details of entitlements, PAN card and bank account number.
Duirng the month of March, Bihar turned the first state in India to make assets of government staff public by transferring the particulars of its functionaries on the government internet site, a step along the lines of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's anti-corruption initiatives.
