Amid a choppy session, Indian markets managed to close positive with BSE Sensex at 17165 and NSE Nifty 28 points higher at 5153.

After a strong close for US markets in last trading session, Indian markets might be able to close positive on Thursday. The markets opened positive but soon went southwards.

At 1.30 pm, Indian stock markets were trading strong with BSE Sensex up by 160 points at 16840 and NSE Nifty higher by nearly 42 points at 5042.

The stock markets continue to rule on a feeble note during noon trades.
